Re-advertised: The Graduate Teaching Assistantship (GTA) Positions at Bishop Stuart University

The Graduate Teaching Assistantship (GTA) Program is an initiative by the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) to enhance the quality of teaching and research in African universities. The program seeks to address critical academic staff shortages in higher education institutions while equipping graduate students with valuable teaching and professional development opportunities. The RUFORUM GTA program envisions a vibrant academic ecosystem where graduate students are actively engaged in teaching, research, and mentorship, contributing to developing sustainable solutions for Africa’s agricultural and development challenges.
There are currently 18 GTA Positions available at Bishop Stuart University in Uganda under the following programmes:
1. PhD – Agriculture and Community Innovation (ACI)
2. PhD – Public Health (PH)
3. PhD – Economic
4. PhD – Business Administration
5. Masters – Business Information Technology
6. Masters – Agriculture and Rural Innovation
7. Masters of Science – Agronomy
8. Master of Science – Climate Change and Food Security
9. Master of Public Health
10. Masters of Agri-business and Value Chain Management
11. Masters in Economic Policy and Planning
12. Master of Business Administration
13. Master of Science in Counseling Psychology
14. PhD in Development Management
15. PhD in Development Studies
16. PhD in Public Administration and Management
17. PhD in Education Management
18. PhD in Language

- Applicants should pay the non-refundable application fees
- The application forms, along with the proof of payment, support documents stipulated on the website, CV, nomination/recommendation letter from the employer, and motivation letter, should be submitted via email to admissions@bsu.ac.ug with a copy to vc@bsu.ac.ug and s.nghituwamhata@ruforum.org
- Those who have already applied online should resubmit their applications via email with all the support documents.
