This election marks an important milestone in strengthening student leadership, participation, and representation within the Transforming African Agricultural Universities to Meaningfully Contribute to Africa’s Growth and Development(  TAGDev) 2.0 Programme.

TAGDev 2.0 (2023–2033), implemented by RUFORUM in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, GCHERA, and twelve (12) partner universities, is committed to equipping and empowering Africa’s young people to drive inclusive, equitable, and climate-resilient transformation of agriculture and agri-food systems. As the TAGDev student community continues to grow across partner universities, the Students Leadership Council provides a structured platform through which students can actively contribute to programme implementation, represent their peers, champion student welfare, and promote the programme’s values of service, inclusion, leadership, and the give-back ethos.

The Students Leadership Council serves as the official voice of TAGDev students, fostering communication between students, partner universities, and the RUFORUM Secretariat while promoting leadership development, peer mentorship, innovation, community engagement, and pan-African collaboration.

Today, we present the aspiring student leaders who have offered themselves for service and are seeking your mandate to represent the TAGDev student community at regional level. These candidates have expressed their commitment to advancing the objectives of TAGDev 2.0 by promoting student welfare, strengthening collaboration, encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship, enhancing communication, and building a vibrant and inclusive student community.
